Branding and Advertising Campaign
While working in a group of two people, we were asked to produce a branding campaign for the 2019 LSAD Graduate Show, which had to incorporate the concept of uniqueness and individuality of the many graduates.
The graduate show in Limerick School of Art and Design is an annual event, which calls for effective branding to promote the event, as well as the artists & designers who participate in it. The goal was to effectively portray the versatility of LSAD students through a consistent branding method.
Singularity is one’s unique quality, peculiarity; being one of a kind. Individuality in LSAD is a prevalent feature and each student’s uniqueness is the greatest attribute they have. While being so different from each other, we also share some commonalities, for example our fingerprints. Fingerprints are a metaphor for us as individuals, but also they symbolise the mark we leave behind through our practices.
As we developed the concept, the pattern we settled on does not directly resemble a fingerprint; it is an abstract representation of the repetitiveness of the fingerprint features. The way we developed the concept is also reminiscent of the way we work as students and how we process concepts. This methodology is used across all disciplines in LSAD. Each project goes through its own unique journey, which again, refers back to our title of Singularity.
